Exciting partnership with Manchester City Council
We are delighted to be working in partnership with Manchester City Council and we are now recruiting mentors from across Manchester, Oldham and Salford.
“We are thrilled to be supporting One Million Mentors to extend their programme in Manchester. We want to build on the successes this has already realised for so many young people in the City, ensuring young people are matched to positive role models that can guide them into successful training and career opportunities that improve their life chances. ” – Councillor Luthfur Rahman – Executive Member for Schools, Culture & Leisure
Mentoring will enable you to help young people (aged 14 to 25 years old) receive guidance, support and access to new opportunities, to develop their life skills and reach their potential. If you have been successful in your career and you want to help young people just starting out, retraining or moving into the world of work, you can make a difference by becoming a mentor.
Mentors will typically meet with a young person face to face, for one hour per month and upto a year, to discuss the young person’s ambitions and career opportunities.
One Million Mentors provides online training and resources, as well as face to face workshops to help you prepare and enjoy your mentoring journey.
We currently have a number of schools, colleges and charities in Manchester looking for mentors to support their young people. Please sign up here.
We host face to face workshops for our mentors, where you’ll get to practice some of the skills from the online training, hear first-hand from experienced mentors and network with other professionals. We request that all mentors start their online training before attending a workshop.
