Klára grew up in a small town in the Czech Republic but from a very young age developed a passion for foreign languages and travel. This led her to study an undergraduate degree in International Relations and jump at the opportunity to complete her degree in Mexico City.
Falling in love with the warm weather, food and welcoming culture, Klára took the leap and moved to Mexico. There she worked in logistics, legal services and as a freelance translator which allowed her to develop her research and communication skills and build relationships with different stakeholders.
In 2018 she decided to fulfil her dream of completing a Master’s degree and came to the UK to study an MSc in International Disaster Management at the University of Manchester. Before joining One Million Mentors, Klára volunteered for various charity organisations which further reinforced her decision to pursue a career in the non-profit sector to make a difference in her community.
In her spare time, Klára enjoys strong coffee, reading and exploring the beautiful landscape of the Peaks and the Lake District.
